The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues its meteoric rise, posting a 13% surge in cumulative brand value, jumping from USD10.7 billion in 2023 to USD12 billion in 2024. This milestone cements IPL’s status as a global powerhouse in sports entertainment and is a testament to its unparalleled fan appeal and commercial success.
Reflecting the league's soaring popularity, four teams, namely Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), have crossed the USD100 million brand value milestone for the first time.
Key highlights include:
- IPL’s brand value boom: The league’s cumulative brand value is up 13% to $12 billion with CSK, MI, RCB & KKR leading the charge
- CSK reigns supreme: Most valuable IPL team with $122 million brand value
- Shifting powers and surprising climbers amongst IPL’s strongest franchise brands as CSK remains strongest brand
- Fastest growing IPL brands: SRH leads with 76% brand value growth, RCB rises by 67%
- Breaking barriers: RCB clinches its maiden Women’s Premier League title in the franchise’s history
