Brand Finance Webinar - Most Valuable Brands in South Africa: An Opportunity for Brand Growth

Brand Finance is the world's leading independent brand valuation consultancy. Each year Brand Finance values over 5,000 of the world’s biggest brands. The top 50 most valuable South African brands have been published in the Brand Finance South Africa 50 report annually since 2013.

Jeremy Sampson, Managing Director at Brand Finance Africa, Ms. Thulisile Manzini , Acting CEO of Brand South Africa, and Declan Ahern, Valuation Director at Brand Finance, hosted a webinar to discuss the findings of this year's study and take a closer look at the most valuable brands in South Africa and South African national soft power.

The interactive session also examined the impact of COVID-19 on brands in the country, and what company leaders can do to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic, and seize opportunities for brand growth post COVID-19.

Jeremy Sampson
Managing Director

Jeremy is the managing director of Brand Finance Africa and has almost 50 years’ experience working in between London and Johannesburg in marketing, advertising, graphic design, public relations, reputation management and branding. He founded and was the Executive Chairman of the Africa operations of the international branding group, Interbrand until he stepped down in October 2014.

Jeremy himself was awarded the prestigious Financial Mail AdFocus Lifetime Achievement Award, in 2010 and holds over 100 design awards.

Today Jeremy consults/mentors/advises, sits on boards/advisory panels, writes and speaks and is very active in the media, including hosting programmes for Classic FM.

Declan Ahern

Declan joined Brand Finance as an Analyst. During his time at Brand Finance, Declan has worked on projects in a range of sectors, but with a specific focus on Banking, Insurance and Mining, as well as extensive experience in evaluation of sports sponsorship activities. Declan has performed various valuations and conducted strategic analysis  for a number of notable clients such as Chevron, Barclays, Zurich, Allianz and Rio Tinto. From these Valuations, Declan has been able to advise our clients about strategies that could maximise their Business Values through increased utility from their brand.Declan studied at the University of Cape Town and graduated with Bachelor of Business Science in Finance with Economics. He is currently studying to become a Chartered Accountant with Brand Finance, and recently completed the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst exams.
